Op het NARGS-forum is een hele discussie geweest over het kruisen van J.dubia en J.diphylla. Jij hebt dat vast gevolgd Wim. Wat kan je erover vertellen?

Yes, got germination of J. dubia x diphylla, but not the other way around... got very low germination of J. diphylla all around that year. Will probably be a couple more years to see if I get anything from those attempted crosses. I did get seed from the attempted cross with J. diphylla as the mother plant, no germination, but I did hold the flats for another year. Interestingly, I'm getting some Epimedium seed germination in flats that showed no germination last year, so apparently even though the seed is ephemeral, it does have the capacity to germinate in the subsequent year, so I still have some hope for the old Jeffersonia seed flats.

Ja, de zaden van J. dubia (als moederplant) x J. diphylla hebben gekiemd, maar de omgekeerde kruising (met J. diphylla als moederplant) niet....ik heb vorig jaar sowieso een lage kieming gehad van J. diphylla zaad. Het zal waarschijnlijk nog enkele jaren duren voordat ik kan zien of er iets interessants uit die kruising voortkomt. De kruising met J. diphylla als moederplant zette echter ook wel zaad, geen kieming, maar ik heb de zaadbakjes nog een jaar bijgehouden. Interessant genoeg, treedt er nu kieming op van Epimedium zaad dat vorig jaar niet kiemde, alhoewel het zaad kortlevend is, kan de kieming toch uitgesteld worden, dus ik hoop ook nog op kieming van het "oude" Jeffersonia zaad.
