Thanks. everybody, for nice comments. I am here all year round, even if I don't always write so often, enoying all the nice photos while waiting for spring to come.

Spring here in the north is very late this year. There is still snow in the hills and, and the mountains are all completely white. Only the last week we had the first days with themperatures above 10 degrees during day time.
Even so, more and more plants are starting to flower.. like this Primula sonchifolia., always the first Primula to flower in my garden.

Magnificent Magnar, how do you grow this Prim, soil, sun/shade, winterprotection? Do you think it can be grown in Holland with our hot summers?

In the wild Primula sonchifolia thrive in cool, damp places. I grow it in deep black compost which never dry completely out. It has sun most of the day, but sun in North Norway is not the same as sun in Belgia or Nederland. I give it no winter protection but the snow cover which usually, but not always, is good and reliable.  In general our climate is very good for Himalayan plants. I guess it might be difficult to grow in Nederland, but my garden philpsophy is: You never know until you have tried  :)

I will try it when I've got one. I think Kevock has some different clones. Thxs for the info.
